So you may have heard about the basketball player,Lebron James. The two time NBA MVP could not lead his team the Cleveland cavaliers to an NBA again this year losing to the Boston Celtics in 6 games. Now Lebron is facing possible free agent this summer and could go on the NBA free agent market.
So I felt like posting my thoughts on what he should do.
There have been a few teams interested in his services and what he can do on and off the court. Mainly Chicago,New York,New Jersey, and Miami have been the cities rumored because they have the financial room needed to sign Lebron who requires the maximum amount of money. That is if he leaves Cleveland for another team.
Miami would be an interesting situation. They would do very well if they could keep Dwayne Wade I think, but the heat and Dwayne Wade is another story. I think that Miami isn’t really Lebrons first choice for a city to play in.
New York or New Jersey also wants Lebron. Well everyone would, but they have always been seriously rumored. New York is bright lights and glamor. The biggest market that Lebron could go to. But he would not win a title in New York. That team is a mess and Lebron would not be the answer. Maybe getting Chris Bosh from Toronto (again another star player that could leave and that’s another story) would help build a potential Title team. Same with New Jersey, which is even more of a mess. I don’t see Lebron wanting to play for New Jersey who had a terrible season last night struggling for the few wins they got.
Lebron also has to grow up to win a title. He is tight with New York boy Jay-Z. He had fairly immature team in Cleveland during the regular season despite winning lots of games. That immature and laid back team couldn’t win a title. Jay-Z would not help Lebrons growing up and ability to win an NBA title. It’s not a question of talent(he is one of the elites) he needs an all around and focused team around him.
Which brings me to Chicago. If he goes anywhere he should go to Chicago I think. They seem the most likely to take Lebron to winning a title(and maybe getting Chris Bosh as well? Would help) The bulls are the most all round team and would not fool around as far as going for a title. Look how hard they played to squeak into the post season this year in 8th. Adding Lebron would not make them worry about the post season as to whether or not they will make it, but let them focus on going for a title. Chicago may not be New York or Los Angeles but it sure is a pretty big market for him.
Anyway that’s my take on what he should do. If he goes anywhere his best fit is Chicago in my opinion.
