As many of you may have heard with Sony’s pre-E3 slip up, they are making a new PSP model called the PSP Go!. It wasn’t a very well kept secret as it was confirmed in an episode of Qore released before E3 2009 back in June.
So basically Sony is ditching the UMD drive and going with all digital content on this new version of the PSP. The current PSP-3000 model will still be supported, but this is for people looking for a handheld gaming system that is all about download-able content.
Here is what you’ll be getting with the PSP-Go

>The PSP-Go will come with 16GB flash memory, and can be expanded up to 32GB with a memory stick
>There will be bluetooth support for headset’s, and even your PS3’s controller.
>PSP Go is coming to North America and Europe on October 1st, and Japan on November 1st. The price for people in North America will be $250.
>Some of the games coming out for the PSP Go will be PSP versions of Gran Turismo,LittleBigPlanet, and Motorstorm.
So my opinion on the PSP Go is I’m still wondering about picking one up. It’s kind of a steep price point in my opinion compared to what Nintendo has with the Nintendo DS and DSi. On the fact that all games will be downloaded I do think Sony is making a good move, because as we move forward with technology we are moving toward more digital content.
We’ll see how well the PSP Go! does on the market this christmas season.
