For a while now I have been using webcammax for my live stream and the various video’s that I have made. I must say that webcammax is by far THE BEST client out there for windows. Webcammax has a numerous amount of features that can satisfy anyones needs. I highly recommend Webcammax to anyone out there who wants to live stream or make videos for Youtube. Webcammax allows you to do so much and add a lot to your videos or show. There are over 2000 effects availible and you can even create your own effects using flash. You can use multiple sources including webcams, pictures, videos, and you can capture your screen as well. Another cool feature that webcammax offers is PIP (Picture-in-Picture) and you can use as many as you want or need.
You can use Webcammax to nearly replicate the stream setup that Chirs Pirillo has, you can use the screen capture PIP to get the chat from any IRC chat client you have, and you can use one of the effects to replictate the topic above the video. The only feature that webcammax lacks is the ability to display an RSS feed in the video. Which means you cannot update the topic automaticly. Although it is only a matter of time when the developpers include RSS in the source code.
Yet another great feature of webcammax is the fact that you can use nearly any video source that is connected to your computer. That includes T.V. capture cards, this is awesome for people wishing to make a video of a game that they are playing on a game console or a show from their T.V. As well you can capture your screen from your computer, this is great for people who want to show off programs or make tutorial videos.
There is only one drawback to webcammax and that is they amount of computer power needed to run the program. You should have at least a dual core system to run the program. As with other programs, the more you do, the more power it takes. With webcammax the more PIP sources and the more effects you run, the more computer power it will take to keep things running smoothly. This shouldn’t be much of a problem for the average user, but make sure you have at least a low end dual core system before you download webcammax or else your video quality will suffer.
